BANNOCKBURN, ILL. --- Saturday afternoon the Trojans were back in action with another CCAC opponent as the Fighting Saints of St. Francis University visited Van Dixhorn Arena. Despite a strong start and finish, the Trojans lost steam in the middle game and the Fighting Saints came out on top, winning 43-57.
The Trojans came out of the tip with possession and Da'Naria Washington immediately dropped her first of two 3-pointers in the first quarter. Coming in off the bench, Amber Reynolds added a 3-pointer of her own, giving Trinity had the lead 13-15 going into the second quarter. Alina Jahnke opened the second with another three before the Saints turned up their offense with a 10-2 run into the halftime break.
Entering the third quarter, Trinity pushed back with another 3-pointer by Jahnke followed by one from Taylor Hibicke which cut the Saints lead to 12 points. After a quick break, Carly Scheblo started the fourth quarter with a 3-pointer of her own and a layup but the deficit would prove to be too much for the Trojan offense.
