BANNOCKBURN, Ill. ---  Last night the Trojans gathered in Van Dixhorn Arena for their final regular season game of the season to celebrate their graduating senior class as they took on the Lakers of Roosevelt University. Trinity made quick work of the Lakers, downing the CCAC opponent in straight sets in just over an hour.

Shaking off a bit of dust, the Trojans started slow and gave up three errors before turning it around with a nine point run. Of the nine, veteran hitter Brianna Torres landed five kills on her way to a double-double. The Lakers broke it up with a kill before another run of five points for the Trojans, courtesy of four errors by Roosevelt. Gaining momentum, the Lakers grabbed six of the following eight points to cut the deficit to 19-11. Both teams traded a trio of points before Trinity claimed the set with a 10-point advantage, 25-15. 

A quick start, Trinity took a 7-2 lead before swapping points and service with the Lakers. At 13-8 the Trojans  started a three point run after a stellar kill by freshman Theresa Romero and the Lakers answered in kind with a trio of their own. Benefiting from a service error Torres took over serving, earning herself an ace while Lana Vujosevic notched another kill in the rally and taking a 22-12 lead. Standing tall, the Lakers put up a fight with three blocks to prolong the final points for the Trojans but ultimately TIU ended the set with a statement kill from Vujosevic.

Roosevelt started with a push, taking a three point lead early before the Trojans tied things up again at 7-7 following another kill by Vujosevic. Senior Desirae Pisano took over serving and lofted back to back services over the net for picture perfect aces to pull the Trojans ahead 10-7. The Lakers gave up a couple points to the Trojans before the latest bomb from Torres brought the score to 14-10. Trinity took over scoring at 19-15 with a five point series as the Lakers succumbed to four consecutive errors. Propelled one point from victory, TIU struggled to secure the final point as Roosevelt gained a breath of momentum. Once again, Vujosevic had the answer with the final kill of the match to secure the clean sweep.

Trinity is on the road for their final match of the regular season, traveling to Chicago to face the conference leading Cougars of Saint Xavier University. Serve is scheduled for 7:00pm on Thursday, November 3.
