BANNOCKBURN, ILL. --- Looking to continue their win streak, the Trojans faced off against the Trolls of Trinity Christian College in another CCAC matchup. In a dominating fashion, Trinity International continued their stellar team play and ended a long run of home games with another win, 110-87.
Trinity Christian drew the first points with a quick 3-pointer after the tip, but their lead would be short lived as Jack Kahoun dropped a three of his own before adding the layup that gave the Trojans a lead they would never give up.With five minutes gone the Trojans were ahead 13-11 when a dunk by Leon Williams started a 16-2 run which included 3-pointers by Brandon McQueen and Jaden Thomas as well as good defense under the net and a four steals. The Trolls battled back to a single-digit deficit with less than 10 minutes remaining, but the Trojans went on another run of 17-6 before ending the half 62-42
Both teams traded 3-pointers to start the second half before TIU converted on two back to back turnovers and increased their lead to 24 points. On the night, Trinity International scored 31 points off of turnovers, compared to Trinity Christian's eight points. In the next three minutes, Brandon McQueen dropped another eight points, while Leon Williams moved towards his fifth double-double of the season notching 14 total rebounds.
Throughout the remainder of the second half, the Trojans continued their defensive dominance, forcing even more turnovers and steals while out rebounding the Trolls beneath the net. When the final whistle blew, Trinity International shot nearly 42% from the perimeter and scored almost half their points from the paint.
