Trojans drop 4-0 decision at rival Trinity Christian

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. — Saturday morning the Trojans traveled to CCAC rival Trinity Christian for their latest conference match-up. Despite a strong defensive start to the game, TIU ultimately fell 4-0 to the Trolls.

A stalwart for the Trojans all season long, Trinity's backline shone bright again in the first half hour of the contest. Their tight defensive shape and solid communication forced a massive seven offside calls against the Trolls in the first thirty minutes while only allowing three shots on goal. A crack in the armor began to show after Trinity Christian broke through in the 35th minute then again four minutes later. Into the half time break, the Trolls would carry the 2-0 lead.

Regaining composure, TIU's defense pulled the Trolls offside again early in the second half but the onslaught of shots continued with Sarah Davis fending off the few that burst through the defensive live. An unfortunate foul on the Trojans in the 65th minute led to Trinity Christian's third goal. Throughout the remainder of the game, Trinity struggled to gain any consistent offensive pressure and failed to produce shots on goal. With less than three minutes left, the Trolls sunk their fourth goal before the final whistle.
