TIU falls in road clash with Saint Xavier

CHICAGO, Ill. —  TIU men's basketball took a short trip south to square off with conference opponent Saint Xavier University on Saturday afternoon. At the final buzzer, the second place Cougars defeated the Trojans 72-108. 

Trojan veteran Diamond Presniakovas led the Trojan offense with 12 points, while Asher Blum(11)  and Kyonte Thomas (10)  followed close behind. Xavier Cooper dished out the majority of the team's dimes, handing out a near season best six assists. Work below the boards was spread out amongst the squad, with Monte Lambert and Brandon Lawani leading the way with four each.

Trinity is currently averaging 81.6 points, 35.2 rebounds and 10.9 steals per game, ranking them fifth in the nation in steals.

The Trojans (11-8) continue their last run of conference play next Wednesdaywith a game against the Jaguars of Governors State University. Tip off is slated for 7:30pm at the Athletics and Recreation Center in University Park, Illinois.
