Despite individual best performances, Trojans fall to Tigers on the road

BOURBONNAIS, Ill. --- In their latest CCAC battle, the Trojans headed south to tip off against the Tigers of Olivet Nazarene University. Currently receiving votes in the national poll, the Tigers proved to be too much for TIU as they fell 78-104.

Trojan veteran Brandon Lawani led the team in points against the Tigers, dropping 13 through the twine as he also delivered a season high in assists and steals with three in both categories. Sophomore Jaden Thomas put up one of his better offensive performances of the season as he netted 12 points, as well as defensively grabbed a season-high pair of steals. Just a point behind offensively, Presniakovas sank 12 points while leading defensively with eight rebounds, another season best. Senior guard Monte Lambert also contributed a personal best on the evening, shooting 2-2 from the perimeter.

TIU bested the Tigers in points from the bench, outscoring them 35-24.

The Trojans are currently averaging 80.9 points, 35.6 rebounds and 11 steals per game, ranking them fifth in the nation in steals.

Trinity (8-7), looks to bounce back again next weekend as they tip off on their home court against the Eagles of Judson University. The CCAC battle is slated for 3:00pm at Van Dixhorn Arena.
