PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. — Starting off a fresh conference series, the Trojans traveled to Trinity Christian College yesterday afternoon, a day prior to their originally scheduled meeting due to weather forecast. The Trolls jumped ahead early and never looked back, defeating TIU in the opening game of the series.
Game One: TIU 0, TCC 9
Staring at two outs, veteran
Blake Lazaris took the plate to ignite the Trojan offense with a single through the right side but would unfortunately be left on base to cap the top of the first. The Trolls collected three base hits to score two runs in the home half and take the early lead.
Christian Soria-Navarro led off for TIU in the second, recording a base hit to right field. After two strikeouts from the Trinity Christian hurler, Soria-Navarro was caught stealing to conclude the inning for Trinity International. Adding one more to their total, the Trolls hit two and increased their advantage to three.
After a pitching change kept the TIU offense in check, the Trolls resigned the Trojans to the bench with a double play then tacked on two more runs in the third.

Elisa Marquez looked to spark momentum for the Trojans as
Charlie Mctamany launched one into center field. Unfortunately, the Trolls defense stood tall with the catch followed by the third out, leaving the two Trojans on base.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Trojans defense hit a snare as Trinity Christian scored four more runs to seal their eventual victory. The final three innings shared four hits by both teams as the opposing sides solidified their defensive efforts.
TIU(11-15) will face the Trolls again on Monday afternoon, as the doubleheader initially slated for tomorrow at TIU was postponed due to impending weather. Trinity International will remain the home team on the scoreboard and bat second, but the game will be played at Trinity Christian's home field. Opening pitch is scheduled for 1:00pm.
