Van Dixhorn Arena

Van Dixhorn Arena (VDA) is the home to four of TIU's nine varsity, particularly men's and women's basketball, as well as men's and women's volleyball. The arena, named in honor of longtime TIU Director of Athletics, coach, and professor Henry Van Dixhorn was renovated and dedicated on October 24, 2014 by TIU President David Dockery. The 2014 renovation included the additions of a new court, bleachers, and Daktronics scoreboard. The Trojans hosted their first home event in the new arena just four days later in a conference volleyball match between TIU and the Roosevelt University Lakers.

Since 2014, the TIU men’s basketball program has posted an 115-94 overall record while calling Van Dixhorn Arena home. At home alone, the Trojans are 56-35 during that time. VDA has seen the TIU men's basketball team win three regular season conference championships, as well as the 2007 CCAC Tournament title at home. The Trojans have also punched their ticket to the NAIA Tournament five times, highlighted by a 30-6 campaign in 2016-2017 with a trip the NAIA Elite Eight.

The Trojan women's basketball team has recorded a 60-134 record in the last seven seasons, including a 32-60 mark at Van Dixhorn. Trinity has won two regular season conference championships, as well as the three NCCAA Regional titles with VDA as their home court. The Trojans have also punched their ticket to the NAIA Tournament twice, the NCCAA Tournament six times, and the National Small College Athletic Association (NSCAA) Tournament four times, clinching the national championships in 1992 and 1994.

In women's volleyball, TIU has notched a 98-106 overall record while calling Van Dixhorn Arena home since 2014. At home alone, the Trojans are 43-28 during that time. The home of the two-time CCAC champion volleyball program, TIU has seen its best volleyball played at Van Dixhorn Arena during the last three seasons, with the Trojans winning at least 24 matches in both 2018 and 2019. The arena and the university hosted it’s first CCAC Tournament match at Van Dixhorn on November 12, 2019 as the Trojans defeated the St. Francis Fighting Saints in a five-set thriller. Trinity would go on to win the NCCAA North-Central Region title that season and qualify for their second consecutive NCCAA Tournament, and seventh in school history.

Men's volleyball is set to return in January 2022, making it the fourth team to call VDA home.
