Groenendyk is in his third season on the Trinity football sidelines, joining the coaching staff in 2015 and working with the Trojans' receiving corps.

During his time at Trinity, Groenendyk has worked with the offense to produce over an average of 200 receiving yards per game. In his first season in 2015, Trinity tallied 2,296 yards in the air, the team's highest total in three years. Last season, TIU caught 24 TD passes, only the second 20-touchdown campaign since 2004.

Groenendyk is a 2013 graduate of Northwestern College (Iowa), where he was a two-year starting wideout. The Pella, Iowa native led the Raiders with 43 receptions and nine TDs during his first season in 2011, as the team went a combined 18-5 with an NAIA Football Championship Series appearance over his two seasons.
