Jesse Booton joined the Trojan football staff in the fall of 2020 as a graduate assistant. This will be Booton’s 3rd year at TIU and his second year serving as the TIU Running Back Coach. New this year, he’ll be adding the title of Recruiting Coordinator as he was promoted in early January 2022.

During the COVID-19 shortened/postponed season of 2020, Booton contributed in various aspects to the TIU program, including coordinating practice drills, recruitment and game planning material. In the 2021 season Booton helped lead the Trojan offense to 3 wins, the most in the last 4 years. Coach Booton looks forward to continuing helping not only the running backs but the entire TIU team grow as students, as football players, and as men of God.

Booton was a three year varsity starter at running back, wide receiver, and defensive back in high school at Ralston Valley High School in Arvada, Colorado and was a two-time conference honorable mention honoree. Booton received a scholarship to play wide receiver at Hasting College in Hastings, Nebraska where he recorded four receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown during his freshman season.

After his freshman year, Booton transferred to the University of Northern Colorado, where he was a 1 year football walk-on. He earned an undergraduate degree in Sports Administration, with a minor in coaching in 2020. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in organizational leadership at TIU.

Jesse is a native of Golden, Colorado.
