Stephen Bourbon joined the Trojan football coaching staff as the quarterbacks coach in the spring of 2020.

In his first season at TIU in 2020, Bourbon worked closely with second team all-conference quarterback Nolan Brammer, who ranked second in the MSFA-Midwest League in passing yards (1,893), first in passing yards per game (270.4) and third in touchdown passes (11). Trinity's pass efficiency rating jumped 9.4 points from the previous season with Bourbon coaching quarterbacks.

Bourbon previously coached at St. Charles Junior/Senior High School from 2018-2019 as the tight ends/halfbacks coach for the varsity team, and also offensive coordinator for the North Star’s junior varsity team. During his first season, the North Stars qualified for the Illinois Class 7A state championship game.

A native of St. Charles, Illinois, Bourbon earned a degree in journalism from the University of Illinois-Champaign and brings a positive attitude, relentless work ethic, and a willingness to learn to the Trojan program.
