Verne Barreau was named the 20th head coach of the TIU softball program in February of 2019.
In four seasons as head coach, Barreau has led the Trojans to a 44-78 record, including an 20-45 record against CCAC opponents.
Late April of 2022, Barreau was inducted into the USA Softball of Wisconsin Hall of Fame, as part of their annual induction ceremony as one of seven inductees in the class of 2021 for his accomplishments in the field of Men's Fast Pitch softball and as a coach of Junior Olympic Girls FastPitch.
