Quintin Garrison joined the Trinity men’s basketball staff as an assistant coach in 2018.
In his first three seasons with TIU, Coach Garrison has been on the forefront of Trinity's recruiting efforts, and well as their defensive game-planning and execution. During the 2020-21 season, the Trojans defense took a big step in allowing 9.6 fewer points than they did a season earlier. TIU also improved with 7.8 steals per game, ranking third in the CCAC, and jumped from last in the conference in net efficiency to fourth in 2020-21. Garrison has helped coach one NCCAA All-American (Brandon Lawani), three NCCAA All-Region players and four All-CCAC selections, as well as a pair of NAIA and NCCAA Scholar-Athletes.
Garrison came to TIU after spending the previous six seasons on the coaching staff at Bolingbrook High School (IL). While at Bolingbrook, Garrison helped guide them to a 94-26 record over the past four seasons including two IHSA 4A third place finishes in 2015 and 2017. He also helped coach over 25 players that have gone on to play college basketball, including five at the NCAA Division I level.
In 2014, Garrison co-founded Hoopers Basketball Club, a travel basketball organization. While with Hoopers Basketball Club, he operated as a coach and as Director of Operations & College Recruiting. He helped coach and guide 20 players to play college basketball, including placing players in the Big Ten and Big 12.
Garrison is a 2005 graduate of the University of Illinois with a degree in finance. He and his wife Kay, have two children, a daughter, Audrey, and a son, Gavin.
