Lexie Voss led the Trojans with nine kills, while
Gabrielle LaMonaca led the back line with 12 digs, but Trinity International ultimately fell in straight sets to the St. Xavier Cougars, 12-25, 16-25, 11-25.

Trinity climbed to within five points on a kill from Voss, making it a 15-10 score, but a 6-0 run for SXU to close out the set would put the Trojans behind one set to none.
In the second game, the Trojans played their best volleyball of the night, hitting for a .107 average and battling the Cougars to a 6-6 tie early in the set, on a
Samantha Stoller kill. A six-point run for St. Xavier put the Cougars in front again, however. 13-7. Trinity would put together a four-point rally late in the game, but it would be too late, as the Cougars scored the final two points on a kill and service ace.
St. Xavier put the match away in the third set, answering Voss' set-tying kill at 4-4 with seven straight points. An overall run of 18-4 put the Cougars ahead 22-8, and six points later, SXU claimed a 25-11 set win.
The Trojans are back in action this Friday, when they take part in the second CCAC Crossover. TIU will take on CCAC South Division foes Olivet Nazarene, Purdue-Calumet, Trinity Christian, Calumet St. Joseph, beginning Friday, October 24, at the campus of TCC.
