DEERFIELD, Ill. -- In the highest-scoring game of the season, Trinity International earned their fourth victory in a row, tallying seven scores in a 7-4 win over the Roosevelt Lakers on Saturday afternoon at Schartner Field. The Trojans held a 6-0 lead through the first hour of play, but a frantic rally from Roosevelt made the match much closer late, with four scores in the final 15 minutes.

Samantha Yasatan extended her lead on the rest of the CCAC, scoring four goals in the win, giving the Racine, Wisc. native 25 goals on the year. Yasatan produced a hat trick in just twenty minutes on the pitch, scoring three times between the 40th and 58th minutes, before tacking on another score in the 82nd minute.
Morgan Elzinga opened the scoring with her seventh goal of the year in the 10th minute, assisted by
Melissa Loretto. Loretto then pitched in with the Trojans' second and third goals of the game, in the 22nd and 30th minutes.
The Trojans held a 4-0 lead at the half, outshooting the Lakers 12-3. Roosevelt would answer in the second half, however, generating 14 shots to Trinity's four.
Yasatan's goals in the opening minutes of the second half stretched the TIU lead to 6-0 with 33 minutes to play, when the Lakers would begin their comeback. RU's Jamie Beniac, who is second only to Yasatan in goals scored in the CCAC, put her team on the board with her 13th goal in the 77th minute. The Lakers made it a 6-2 game with another goal less than five minutes later. With her fourth goal of the match, however, Yasatan put the game out of reach, increasing the Trojans' lead to 7-2. Roosevelt's Stephani McBride would close the gap late with a pair of goals, but the Lakers would run out of time as TIU secured a 7-4 victory.
With the win, the Trojans move into third place in the CCAC standings, with three games to play in the regular season. Trinity will travel to Robert Morris on Wednesday, October 29 for their next match. Kickoff against the Eagles - who are currently fourth in the standings - is set for 4:00 p.m.
