ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. -- Trinity International would fire 21 shots on the night, but none would find the back of the net, as the Trojans suffered a 3-0 road loss at the hands of Robert Morris on Tuesday night.
Box Score | Season Stats | CCAC StandingsThe Trojans outshot the Eagles 21-11 over the course of the night, including an 16-8 margin in the second half as TIU fought to get back into the match. Robert Morris took a 1-0 lead in just the fifth minute of play, when RMU's Stefan Zindovic scored after working his way through the middle of the pitch.
That early goal would be all the offense in the first half, as the Trojan defense tightened up. Trinity would look for the equalizer for the first 25 minutes of the second half, when RMU took a two goal lead on a header in the 69th minute. Despite outshooting the Eagles 6-2 after their second score, and generating three corner kick opportunities, Robert Morris found their third goal of the night in the 84th minute to put the match away, when the RMU foward found himself past the keeper in front of a wide open net.
Offensively,
Zach Reget recorded a team-high six shots on the night, but winger
Erik Yamane had two shots on goal to lead the Trojans. Of the 21 shots, only four were on target for TIU, with
Nolan Walsh and
Phil Parker each taking a shot on target.
The Trojans are back in action this Saturday, for their final home game of the season. TIU will honor the senior class as part of the Senior Day festivities, as the team hosts St. Francis on November 1, at 2:30 p.m.
