Quick Notes
• Returning home after two games away, the Trinity International Trojans resume conference play with a Thanksgiving-week matchup against the 2nd-ranked Cardinal Stritch Wolves, on Tuesday, November 25. Tipoff against the seven-time CCAC champs is set for 7:30 p.m.
• Tuesday's game will be available via live webcast, at TIUTrojans.com/TIUSportsNetwork.
• Trinity will look to snap a six-game slide, after winning the season opener, 81-67, over Clarke (Iowa) on Oct. 31.
• The Trojans return to Deerfield after spending last weekend in Naperville, for the Chicago Marriott Naperville Tip-off Classic, hosted by North Central University. Trinity fell to a pair of NCAA Division III programs during the classic.
• On the opening night, TIU suffered an 81-64 loss to the host Cardinals, as NCC used a late run to put the game away in the closing minutes.
• The Trojans lost to the defending NCAA Division III champs Wisconsin-Whitewater, 95-72, on the second day of the classic.
• Cardinal Stritch swept the season series over the Trojans last year, and have won the past 17 meetings with TIU.
• Trinity International ranks 8th in the CCAC in scoring, averaging 70.6 points per game; Stritch comes in 3rd in the conference, with 76.3 points per game. Defensively, however, the Wolves have allowed 73.8 points to their opponents, ranking 7th in the CCAC. TIU has given up 82.0 points per game on the defensive end, most in the conference.
• Senior center Nate Ball was named CCAC Player of the Week on Nov. 5, after leading the Trojans with 16.0 points and 8.5 rebounds over two games at the Judson Classic.
• Trinity returns 77.2% of its scoring output from last season, as the top four scorers from a year ago return for the 2014-15 season. TIU also brings back 63.2% of it's rebounding production from last year.
Series History with Cardinal Stritch
• Since 2003-04, the Stritch Wolves have held a 25-2 record over Trinity International, and have claimed the last 17 meetings.
• The last Trojan victory over Stritch came on Feb. 26, 2007, a 78-58 home win to wrap up the regular season.
• Trinity holds a 1-11 record against the Wolves in Van Dixhorn Arena.
Last Time Out vs. Cardinal Stritch
• Junior Nate Ball led Trinity International with 15 points on the night, but a second-half run from the No. 1 Cardinal Stritch Wolves finished off a pesky Trojans squad, 86-68, on Feb. 5, 2014.
• Trinity International kept things close before the halftime break, but a 20-7 turnover difference ended up costing TIU in the end.
• Using a 21-6 run to start the second half, CSU took command of the game, building a 23-point lead with 13:39 to play.
• James Glass contributed nine points on the night, nearly reaching double figures and recording his highest point total since Dec. 3. Sam Salem and Thomas Amrine each finished with eight points for the Trojans.
• On Nov. 26 last season, Junior guard Justin Peeples scored a team-high 14 points, but the Trojans suffered a 91-71 loss to the defending NAIA Division II national champion Wolves, at the CSU Field House.
League Leaders
• Nate Ball cracks the national top 50 in four different categories. The Galena, Ill. native is 11th in the NAIA in total blocks (14), 14th in blocks per game (2.0), 21st in offensive rebounds per game (3.29), and 50th in total rebounding (7.71).
• Trinity ranks fourth in the CCAC with 7.9 steals per game, and fourth in blocks, with 3.1 per game. Nationally, the Trojans are 47th in the NAIA in steals, and 50th in blocks
• The Trojans hold one of the best turnover margins in the CCAC this season, averaging 2.43 fewer turnovers than their opponents, good for 3rd in the conference, and 39th in the NAIA.
• Senior Nate Ball is among the CCAC's best in multiple categories; Ball ranks 6th in rebounding (7.7 per game), 7th in field goal percentage (.585), 2nd in blocked shots (2.0), and 4th in offensive boards (3.3).
• Sophomore guard Thomas Amrine sits in a tie for 15th in the CCAC in steals, averaging 1.3 per game, with his teammate Dillon Wadsack. Amrine is also the Trojans' top three-point shooter, with 2.6 made threes each game, which ranks 7th in the conference.
1,000 Point Club
• With 18 more points, senior Nate Ball will have 1,000 points scored during his four years at Trinity International.
• Ball will become the first Trojan to join the 1,000-point club since teammate Dillon Wadsack scored his 1,000th point in the final game of the 2012-13 season, with 13 points against Holy Cross.
• Dan Dondit (1979-83) holds TIU's all-time scoring record, having tallied 2,499 points during his Trojan career.
Trojans in the Polls
• Trinity International has appeared in the NAIA Division II Coaches Poll 21 times in program history, but not since the 1997-98 campaign.
• TIU's last ranking came on Jan. 6, 1998, when the Trojans came in at No. 20.
• The highest ranking in program history was during the 1995-96 season, when Trinity was at No. 3 in the Jan. 22, 1996 poll.
