DEERFIELD, Ill. - On the second day of hosting the CCAC Crossover, Trinity International suffered a pair of losses, falling in straight sets to Trinity Christian, 25-10, 25-12, 25-9, and in four to Purdue-Calumet 25-15, 22-25, 28-26, 25-13.

Becca Kowalczuk each had eight digs on the back line. In the second match of the day, Staal, along with
Alida Knudtson each picked up 13 kills. Four Trojans finished in double figures in digs against the Peregrines; Boelter and
Gabby Miller each recorded 12, while Kowalczuk and Suzanne Knudton had ten apiece. Knudtson also picked up her second double-double in her last three matches, finishing with 27 assists.
After dropping the first set with Purdue-Calumet, the Trojans responded with a 25-22 win in set two. TIU jumped out to a 7-2 lead at the start of the third, and led as late as 21-18 following a kill by Staal. The Peregrines responded with three straight points to tie the game at 21-21, but a service error and kill from
Alida Knudtson put the Trojans back in front 23-21.
Another quick three-point rally gave the Peregrines game point at 24-23, but the Trojans tied the score with a kill by Boelter. Trinity held off two more game points by PUC before the Peregrines finally broke through at 28-26 with a pair of kills to close out the game.
The Trojans will now hit the road next week, beginning with a trip to St. Ambrose on Tuesday, October 27. Tipoff from Davenport, Iowa is set for 7:00 p.m.
