WHITING, Ind. - In the final road match of the regular season,
Samantha Yasatan scored twice, as Trinity International took a 4-1 victory over the host Calumet St. Joseph Crimson Wave.

Morgan Elzinga and
Marta Sobey scored in the first half to help give TIU a 3-1 lead in the first 24 minutes of play. The Trojan defense led the way, however, allowing just three shots to the Crimson Wave (2-14, 1-10 CCAC).
Elzinga put her team in front with her team-leading 10th goal of the year in the 21st minute. The Wave answered just moments later, scoring on their first shot of the match from Fatima Garcia. The home team wouldn't put another shot on target the rest of the night, with just two more attempts coming from the CCSJ attack in the match.
Two quick goals from Yasatan and
Marta Sobey quickly gave Trinity a 3-1 lead before the end of the first half. Sobey, with three career goals scored, now has two goals in the Trojans' last two matches.
Yasatan put the match away in the 66th minute, scoring her second goal of the night to put TIU in front by three scores.
With the win, Trinity remains in a tie for fourth in the CCAC standings, with one match to play in the regular season; the top for spots in the conference will host an first round match in the upcoming CCAC Tournament. The Trojans will host #11 Olivet Nazarene this Saturday, October 31 for a noon kickoff. The team will also honor the 2015 senior class before the start of the match on Saturday.
