Quick Notes

• Trinity International wraps up the first half of the 2015-16 season on Saturday, when they host the Purdue-North Central Panthers on Saturday, December 19 at 3:00 p.m.
• The Trojans have claimed three of the last four meetings over the Panthers, and lead the all-time series with PNC 19-5.
• The Trojans currently are currently on a three-game slide, falling at home to Purdue-Calumet on Dec. 5, before dropping road games at Holy Cross and Calumet St. Joseph.
• As a team, the Trojans rank 3rd in the NAIA with 152 through 14 games this year. Their average of 10.9 steals per game ranks 8th in the NAIA.
• Six players are currently averaging double figures for the Trojans, led by Grant Corsi's 14.8 points per game. Cory Windle (13.5 ppg), Jeremy Carlyle (13.0), Zach Kirschbaum (11.9), James Glass (11.0), and Thomas Amrine (10.4) are also in double figures at this point in the season.
• The Trojans have the second-highest scoring offense in the CCAC, averaging 86.1 points per game. Purdue-North Central has allowed 77.2 points per game, good for the 10th-best defense in the league.
• Defensively, TIU ranks 13th in the CCAC with 79.1 points allowed per game; Purdue-North Central has averaged 78.6 points per game on offense, as the Panthers rank 7th in the conference.
• The Panthers are sitting at 8-6 on the season, but have put together back-to-back wins only once; against Presentation (S.D.) and Oak Hills Christian (Minn.) on Nov. 20-21. PNC have also not yet lost two games in a row, but have dropped three of their last four conference matchups.

Series History with PNC
• Trinity and Purdue-North Central have three wins apiece against one another over the past six meetings, with Trinity taking last season's matchup, 92-83.
• From 2003-2010, both sides met twice each season, and the Trojans dominated the series, going 16-2 over the Panthers.
David Chatman has averaged a team-high 12.0 points per game against Purdue-North Central, in just one game played. James Glass has posted 9.7 points on average each time he suits up against the Panthers, over three games.

Last Time Out vs. Purdue-North Central
• Trailing by as much as 15 points in the first half, Trinity International battled back after the break, and earned a 92-83 road win over Purdue-North Central Panthers for their eighth consecutive victory on Jan. 24 at the LaPorte Civic Auditorium.
• Six Trojans helped fuel the win by scoring in double figures, led by senior center Nate Ball's 19 points.

National Leaders
• Going into Wednesday night, the Trojans rank 8th in the NAIA in scoring offense, having scored a total of 1,205 points through 14 games this season.
• A large part of the high-scoring offense comes from Trinity's three-point shooting prowess, as the Trojans rank 10th in the NAIA with a total of 125 three-point field goals made. TIU is averaging 8.9 three-pointers per game, the 28th-best average in the nation.
• The Trojans have the 13th-best turnover margin in the NAIA, averaging 4.9 fewer turnovers than their opponents on the season.
• TIU also rank among the national top 25 in total assists (17th), blocks (19th), and rebounds (19th).

Career Milestone
• Senior shooting guard Thomas Amrine has collected 825 career points during his TIU career, just 175 shy of joining the 1,000-point club.
• Amrine would become the 19th player in Trinity International history to reach 1,000 points.
• Last season, Trinity had two of the 18 previous 1,000-point scorers on the same team, in center Nate Ball, and guard Dillon Wadsack.
• Ball finished his TIU career 13th on the program's all-time scoring list, with 1,304 career points. Wadsack is 14th, with 1,170 points.

Trojans in the Polls
• Trinity International has appeared in the NAIA Division II Coaches Poll 21 times in program history, but not since the 1997-98 campaign.
• TIU's last ranking came on Jan. 6, 1998, when the Trojans came in at No. 20.
• The highest ranking in program history was during the 1995-96 season, when Trinity was at No. 3 in the Jan. 22, 1996 poll.

New Signing
• The Trinity International men's basketball program received a major boost in the 2016 recruiting class this week, as the Trojans announced the signing of Mark Smith, a 6-7 forward from Riverside-Brookfield High School (Riverside, Ill).
• Smith is a two-year starter for Riverside-Brookfield and Head Coach Tom McCloskey. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 2 in the Associated Press Illinois High School Rankings at the 4A level. Smith has his squad off to a great start this season, as the Bulldogs sit at 6-1, with the only blemish a shorthanded loss to Gonzaga College HS out of Washington, D.C., the 23rd-ranked team in the USA Today National Rankings.

Up Next
• The Trojans return from Christmas break and kick off the New Year with a trip to St. Ambrose. TIU heads to Davenport, Iowa on Tuesday, January 5, and will tip off against the Bees at 7:30 p.m.
