Box Score | Season Stats

Despite the Trojans (3-5, 1-3 CCAC) leading for most of the night, a fourth-quarter rally put the visitors in front in the fourth quarter, on Kelley McInerney's three-pointer with 6:10 to play. A pivotal 10-1 run over the next two minutes gave Trinity the lead for good midway through the period.

Both teams held their largest respective leads of the game in the first period, with the Lakers (5-4, 1-3 CCAC) jumping out to an 8-4 lead on a pair of threes in the opening minutes. TIU moved in front for the first time on a jumper from Woods at the 5:13 mark, then took the lead again at 12-10 on a trey from Bracun with 3:07 remaining in the quarter. The sophomore knocked down two from long range as part of a run of ten unanswered points that gave the Trojans a 19-10 advantage with :32 left in the first.

The Lakers could trim the lead down to two points in the second quarter, before Cheyenne Berbey hit a three to put Trinity ahead 26-21 with 5:01 on the clock. The Trojans would lead by as much as seven before the halftime break, but Roosevelt closed out the half with four straight points to make it a 31-28 score at the half.

Trinity lead throughout the third period, but were never able to put the Lakers down by more than seven points. McInerney's bucket at the start of the fourth quarter cut the Trojan lead down to 45-43; she later tied the game at 48-48, and put Roosevelt in front 53-52, with a pair of three-pointers with about six minutes to play.

Surina Falvo fueled the game-winning run, scoring six straight points on a three-pointer followed by a layup-and-1 to give Trinity a 60-54 advantage with 4:42 remaining. Another three-pointer with 21 seconds remaining pulled the Lakers to within two points, and the visitors had a chance at the buzzer following a pair of missed Trojan free throws, but a turnover on the final possession sealed the first conference win of the year for TIU.

Falvo and Parris Bryant finished in double figures, with 15 and 10 points respectively; Bryant came one rebound short of her first collegiate double-double, with nine boards to go with her five blocks on the defensive end.

The Trojans return home on Saturday, when they host the 14th-ranked Purdue-Calumet Peregrines. Tipoff from Van Dixhorn Arena is set for 1:00 p.m.
