The Trojans shot 36.8% (21-57) from the field, their third-best shooting performance of the year, but struggled to contain the Trolls' size advantage, and were out-rebounded 53-26 on the night.
TIU held an early lead, after Nika Bracun's three-pointer at the 17:51 mark of the first half gave the Trojans a 7-4 advantage. Trinity Christian answered with seven straight points, however, to take a 11-7 lead, that they would hold the rest of the way.
Johnson led the Trojans with nine first-half points, going 4-for-6 from the field, as TIU trailed 40-26 at the break.
Woods opened the second half with her jumper just seconds into play, bringing the Trojans to within 12; the team would reach that margin two other times in the second half, but weren't able to climb any closer. Johnson's free throws at the 9:03 mark made it a 53-41 score, but a 12-4 run from the Trolls would close out the game.
The Trojans will close out their brief two-game homestand this Wednesday night, when they host the Judson Eagles for a 5:30 tipoff.
