DEERFIELD, Ill. - The Trinity International defense recorded its fourth shutout of the season on Saturday afternoon, taking a 2-0 win over the visiting Clarke (Iowa) Crusaders at Schartner Field.

The TIU defense looked strong in the first half, limiting Clarke (6-5) to just one shot before the halftime break, and out-shooting the Crusaders 31-8 overall on the day.
Trinity got on the board in the 26th minute, when
Erik Yamane found
Aric Whipple's pass and put the ball away for his second goal this season. Clarke had a pair of corner kick opportunities following the score, but were unable to convert, and the Trojans went into the half with a 1-0 advantage.
Despite a good handle on possession throughout the second half, Trinity were unable to break through again until the 83rd minute, with a goal from
Zack Cemail, assisted from
Brett Robinson, that put the match out of reach.
Redshirt freshman
Jared Yonke made three saves on the day, recording his fourth career shutout while improving his record to 6-1 this season.
The Trojans close out the non-conference portion of the 2015 schedule with the win, finishing with a 5-1 record outside of the CCAC. Trinity will re-join league play on Tuesday, September 30, with a trip to Purdue-Calumet, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
