DEERFIELD, Ill. -- Trinity International fired early and often, as the the Trojans put away six goals en route to a 6-0 victory over the Concordia (Mich.) Cardinals, Saturday afternoon at Schartner Field. Five different Trojans got on the scoresheet in the victory, including three first-year players who recorded their first career goals.

Jordan Dejno found the back of the net to give the Trojans a 2-0 advantage. A third goal came from senior
Brett Robinson, who connected with Dejno and Krystain Streit, earning assists on the play, for the score.
Trinity outshot the Cardinals by a 21-3 margin in the first half, and continued to hold possession after the break.
Tyler Cake got on the board with his first career goal in the 54th minute, assisted by Robinson and
Aric Whipple.
Concordia played the final stretch with ten men, after a second yellow card was dealt out in the 62nd minute to a Cardinal midfielder. Concordia was given five yellow cards in the match overall, with one yellow given out to the Trojans.
Two more late goals came after the Trojans were playing up a man.
Erik Yamane's shot in the 73rd minute deflected off a Concordia defender and went in for an own goal. Andrew Pierce then finished off the scoring with a strike from the top of the box in the 85th minute.
The six goals scored was the highest offensive output for the Trojans since last season's 16-0 win over a nine-man Iowa Wesleyan squad, and the first over a team at full strength since a 6-1 home win over St. Francis on Oct. 16, 2009.

Jared Yonke, making his first career start at keeper, made four saves on the day and earns his first shutout as a Trojan.
Trinity will head to Mequon, Wisc., to take on the Concordia (Wisc.) Falcons in their first road match of the season. Kickoff against the Falcons is set for this Monday, September 7, at 3:30 p.m.
