DEERFIELD, Ill. -- In her third career match, freshman forward Jillian Kolster recorded her first-ever goal in the 22nd minute, then went ahead and put away her second score later in the match to secure No. 17 Trinity International's first win of the season, 2-1 over the visiting Concordia (Mich.) Cardinals on Saturday afternoon.

Kolster gave the Trojans (1-1-1) the lead in the 22nd minute, despite Concordia (3-2-1) out-shooting Trinity in the first half, 3-2. After TIU held the Cardinals off the scoreboard throughout the first half, Concordia broke through to tie the match in the 53rd minute, when Julia Palushaj took Janaya Lothian's pass from inside the 18 and pushed the shot past the keeper for the equalizer.

Throughout the middle stages of the second half, Trinity began to control the tempo of the match, and in the 78th minute Kolster struck again, putting away the game-winning goal with the assist coming from Morgan Elzinga.

In her first career start, McKenzie Chappell made four saves with just one goal allowed to earn the victory. Freshman Heather Ortiz came off the bench to record three shots, including two of the team's four shots on goal.

Trinity will now hit the road for their first match away from Schartner Field this Monday, September 7. TIU will travel to Concordia (Wisc.) for a Labor Day matchup starting at 1:00 p.m.
