TRINITY INTERNATIONAL TROJANS (13-9, 6-7 CCAC) vs. INDIANA-SOUTH BEND TITANS (13-9, 6-7 CCAC)
Saturday, January 30 | 7:00 p.m.
Van Dixhorn Arena | Deerfield, Ill.

Quick Notes
• Trinity International finishes their three-game road trip on Wednesday, with a matchup against the St. Xavier Cougars. The Trojans then return to Van Dixhorn Arena for a pivotal CCAC contest with Indiana-South Bend on Saturday.
• Both games will be available online, at TIUTrojans.com.
• The Trojans and Titans are currently tied for 6th in the CCAC standings, with the top eight teams earning a spot in the CCAC Tournament. Both teams have identical 6-7 records in league play entering Wednesday's round of games.
• Trinity posted a five-game winning streak before dropping Saturday's game at No. 2 St. Francis, their longest streak of the season. After upsetting No. 15 Robert Morris last Wednesday for their fifth victory in a row, the Trojans briefly held the longest win streak in the CCAC.
• As a team, the Trojans rank 6th in the NAIA with 9.8 steals per game, and are 8th nationally with 216 total steals this season.
• Six players are currently averaging double figures for the Trojans, led by Cory Windle's 17.0 points per game. Grant Corsi (13.5 ppg), Jeremy Carlyle (13.3), Zach Kirschbaum (13.2), Thomas Amrine (10.6), and James Glass (10.2) are also in double figures at this point in the season.
• Junior forward Zach Kirschbaum is the CCAC leader in rebounds, averaging 10.3 per game, as well as blocks, at 1.6 per game. With 13.2 points per game, Kirschbaum is the only player in the conference to be averaging a double-double.
• TIU ranks 2nd in the CCAC, averaging 82.4 points per game, while SXU is 6th in the conference with 79.0 points per game, and IU-South Bend's 80.3 points per game ranks 4th.
• Defensively, TIU is 14th in the CCAC with 79.5 points allowed per game; SXU sits 7th in the league, allowing 75.0 points per game, while the Titans have the fifth-best defense, with 73.5 points allowed each game.
• The Cougars are coming off a road loss to Olivet Nazarene last Saturday, snapping a three-game win streak. SXU have won their last four home games, dating back to a non-conference loss to Huntington (Ind.) on Dec. 28.
• IUSB have lost two straight and five of their last seven heading into a midweek matchup at cross-town rival Holy Cross. Three of those five recent defeats came against nationally-ranked programs.
• Trinity are currently 6-7 in league play, good for a three-way tie for 6th in the CCAC standings. Due to tiebreakers, if the season ended today the Trojans would be tied with IU-South Bend for the 8th seed in the CCAC Tournament, which begins Feb. 24.
• A win for the Trojans this week would be the team's 14th of the season, surpassing last year's win total. The 26 victories so far between 2014-16 is the most wins over a two-year period for TIU since 2005-07 (16 wins in '05-'06, 14 in '06-'07).

Series History vs. SXU
• The Trojans are still searching for their first-ever win over St. Xavier, in a series that began in 2003. The Cougars have claimed the first 17 contests over the Trojans.
• In their meeting earlier this season, Trinity came up short, 92-90, in the closest margin of victory for SXU in the series.

Series History vs. IUSB
• Saturday marks the 10th meeting between Trinity and Indiana-South Bend, with the Titans holding a 9-1 edge in the series since 2003-04.
• The Trojans claimed their first win in the series last year, in a 78-76 road victory on Jan. 14.

Last Time Out vs. St. Xavier
• Trailing by 19 points with 4:01 remaining in the game, Trinity nearly pulled off the comeback, falling two points short in a 92-90 loss at home to the Cougars on Nov. 18, 2015.
• Trinity outscored their opponents 30-13 over the last four minutes, a run that included an 8-for-12 performance from the free throw line, and four three-pointers in the Trojans' final four possessions.
• Junior forward Grant Corsi finished with a team-high 21 points on the night, going 6-for-11 from the field and hitting three treys. James Glass (12 pts./11 reb.) and Zach Kirschbaum (11 pts./13 reb.) each recorded double-doubles. David Chatman and Sean Smith came off the bench to score 12 and 11 points, respectively.

Last Time Out vs. Indiana-South Bend
• Trailing by four with less than a minute to play, the Trojans finished on a 7-1 run over the final 46 seconds to secure their fifth straight win, 78-76 on the road at IUSB. Sophomore David Chatman scored five straight points to put the Trojans in front, as the TIU defense didn't allow a field goal over the final minute to complete the comeback.
• Six Trojans finished in double figures, led by Thomas Amrine's 14 points. Nate Ball and Justin Peeples each scored 13 points in the win, followed by Chatman and Sam Salem with 12, and Dillon Wadsack with 10.
• The win was the fifth in the middle of a ten-game winning streak, the longest winning streak for the program since the 1995-96 season.

National Leaders
• The Trojans rank among the top ten in NAIA-II in steals per game (6th, 9.8), total steals (8th, 216), and turnover margin (9th, +4.2).
• On the offensive end, TIU ranks 38th in scoring average, thanks in large part to a total of 193 three-pointers made this season, 23rd-best in the NAIA.
• The Trojans rank among the NAIA's top 50 teams in all five major categories: total points (23rd, 1,813), rebounds (42nd, 836), assists (50th, 314), steals (8th, 216), and blocks (24th, 80).

Career Milestone
• Senior shooting guard Thomas Amrine has collected 891 points during his Trojans career, just 109 shy of joining the 1,000-point club.
• Amrine would become the 19th player in Trinity International history to reach 1,000 points.
• Last season, Trinity had two of the 18 previous 1,000-point scorers on the same team, in center Nate Ball, and guard Dillon Wadsack.
• Ball finished his Trojans career 13th on the program's all-time scoring list, with 1,304 career points. Wadsack is 14th, with 1,170 points.

Trojans in the Polls
• Trinity International has appeared in the NAIA Division II Coaches Poll 21 times in program history, but not since the 1997-98 campaign.
• Trojans's last ranking came on Jan. 6, 1998, when the Trojans came in at No. 20.
• The highest ranking in program history was during the 1995-96 season, when Trinity was at No. 3 in the Jan. 22, 1996 poll.

Magic Number
• On the defensive end of the court this season, the 80-point mark seems to be the key for a Trojan victory. Twleve times this season, TIU has held their opponents to under 80 points, and the Trojans have gone 11-1 in those games. When allowing 80 or more points, Trinity has only two wins in ten tries, with one of those victories coming in the double-overtime win at Illinois Tech on Jan. 12.
• In the season-and-a-half of the Roberts era, Trinity International holds a 23-5 mark when their opponents score less than 80 points, and a 3-21 record when the other side hits the 80-point plateau.

New Signing
• The Trinity International men's basketball program received a major boost in the 2016 recruiting class this week, as the Trojans announced the signing of Mark Smith, a 6-7 forward from Riverside-Brookfield High School (Riverside, Ill).
• Smith is a two-year starter for Riverside-Brookfield and Head Coach Tom McCloskey. The Bulldogs are currently ranked No. 2 in the Associated Press Illinois High School Rankings at the 4A level. Smith has his squad off to a great start this season, as the Bulldogs sit at 6-1, with the only blemish a shorthanded loss to Gonzaga College HS out of Washington, D.C., the 23rd-ranked team in the USA Today National Rankings.

Up Next
• Next week, Trinity faces a pair of CCAC North Division foes, as the Trojans host Judson for a Wednesday night matchup, before heading out to take on Roosevelt on the road on Saturday.
• The Trojans will look to record season sweeps over both programs. TIU last won both meetings over the Eagles in 2012-13, and over the Lakers in 2010-11 (in a pair of non-conference games).
