CHICAGO, Ill. - A slow start gave No. 1 St. Xavier an early lead, and Trinity International struggled to make up the difference the rest of the way, as the Trojans suffered a 98-79 loss on the road Wednesday night.

JaToya Woods scored a game-high 22 points to lead the Trojans (7-13, 3-10 CCAC), while three other players finished the night in double figures.
St. Xavier (23-1, 13-1 CCAC) jumped out to a quick 11-2 lead over the first five and a half minutes into the first period.
Basha Ramsey scored the first four points for TIU, and a three-pointer from
Sarina Falvo cut the deficit to four points, at 11-7 with 3:04 remaining in the first. The Trojans would add in just two points before the end of the period, as the Cougars closed out the period on a 10-1 run, giving the home team a 25-9 lead at the end of the first quarter.
The Trojan offense got rolling in the second period, putting up 25 points, as Ramsey and Woods would go into the halftime break leading TIU with eight points apiece. Woods' layup at the 8:40 mark would bring the Trojans to within 12, but that would be as close as they would get the rest of the way.
Falvo finished with 17 points on the night, going 6-for-11 from the field.
Rayelle Ross tallied 14 points in 19 minutes of action off the bench, knocking down six of her ten field goal attempts. Ramsey and Woods each recorded eight rebounds to lead TIU.
The Trojans return home this Saturday, when they host Indiana-South Bend as part of TIU Whiteout Night. Tipoff against the Titans is set for 5:00 p.m., and the first 700 fans to Van Dixhorn Arena will receive a free TIU Whiteout t-shirt.
