DAVENPORT, Iowa - JaToya Woods reached the 20-point mark for the fourth time in the last five games, but another slow start for Trinity International saw the Trojans fall on the road to the St. Ambrose Bees, 78-44, Tuesday night in CCAC play.
Box Score | Season StatsThe Trojans (6-8, 2-5 CCAC) were held without a field goal throughout the first period, as the host Bees (10-5, 5-2 CCAC) scored the first 17 points of the game and led 27-4 at the end of the first quarter. Woods got the Trojans back on the right track at the start of the second, with a pair of scores to cut the lead to under 20, at 27-8.
St. Ambrose would respond with a 10-1 run to build their advantage to 37-9 with 5:56 remaining in the half, and would stay in front of the Trojans by more than 20 points the rest of the night.
The Trojans return to Van Dixhorn Arena for the first time in 2016 this Thursday night, when they host the No. 9 Cardinal Stritch Wolves at 5:30 p.m.
