DEERFIELD, Ill. - A tight game throughout the first half, Trinity International looked to have a shot for the upset, but the visitors pulled away after the halftime break, as the No. 9 Cardinal Stritch Wolves defeated the Trojans 80-51 on Thursday night inside the Van Dixhorn Arena.

The Trojans led by as much as six in the first half, after scoring the first five points of the game.
Cheyenne Berbey knocked down one of her two three-pointers on the night to make it an 8-2 game with 7:19 to play in the first period.
The Wolves took their first lead of the night on Emily Neitzel's three at the 4:55 mark, giving the visitors an 11-10 advantage. Stritch would go on to hold a 21-15 lead at the end of the first period, and built their first double-digit advantage early in the second. A pair of threes from Ross, along with two of
Marlou Peters' nine points would cut the lead all the way down to 29-27, forcing a Stritch timeout.
Cardinal Stritch came out of the stoppage firing, closing out the half on a 16-1 run to hold a 45-28 halftime lead. The Trojans were unable to climb back in the game, as Stritch outscored Trinity 19-9 in the third to put the game away.
The Trojans are back in action this Saturday, when they travel to face Trinity Christian. TIU tips off against the Trolls from Palos Heights, Ill., at 1:00 p.m.
