JaToya Woods finished with a team-high 18 points and 14 rebounds for her first career double-double, while junior
Marlou Peters came off the bench with 11 points and 13 boards, her second double-double this year.
Box Score | Season StatsThe Trojans (7-9, 3-6 CCAC) held a narrow 29-26 lead at the halftime break, and TCC's Katie Moran cut the margin to a single point with the first score of the second half. Trinity responded with 14 unanswered to claim a 43-28 lead with 5:04 left in the third, as five different Trojans contributed to the rally.
Trinity Christian (0-17, 0-9 CCAC) rallied late in the fourth, however, using a 12-0 run of their own spanning five minutes to tie the game at 51-51. Woods edged the Trojans back in front with a layup, and Peters extended the lead on the next possession to kick-start a run of nine straight points inside less than 60 seconds to put the game away.
Woods finished with a career-high 14 rebounds in the win, along with four assists. Peters also set a new career high with 13 rebounds.
Sarina Falvo nearly picked up her first double-double as well, finishing with eight points and nine boards.
Trinity returns to Van Dixhorn Arena next Saturday, when they will look to upset nationally-ranked Olivet Nazarene. Tipoff against the No. 14 Tigers is set for 1:00 p.m. on January 16.
