DEERFIELD, Ill. - A penalty kick proved to be the difference on a rainy Wednesday afternoon, as Trinity International suffered a 1-0 defeat to the Roosevelt Lakers at Schartner Field.

The visiting Lakers (2-11, 2-6 CCAC) took the lead in the 81st minute, after a handball was called on Trinity (4-9, 3-4 CCAC) inside the penalty box. RU's Monica Munoz converted the kick to put Roosevelt on top.
Trinity had controlled possession throughout most of the match, out-shooting the Lakers 18-7, and putting eight shots on goal. The Trojans enjoyed a 10-2 shot differential in the first half, but all five attempts on-target were stopped by the Lakers' goalkeeper.
Isabelle Danner led the way with five shots throughout the match, while Danner and
Jillian Kolster each recorded two shots on goal. Freshman goalkeeper
Rebecca Wells earned her second career start, making three saves on the day.
With five games remaining in the regular season, Trinity International will hit the road for the next-to-last time this weekend, when they head west to face No. 13 St. Ambrose. Kickoff against the Bees is set for Saturday, October 15, beginning at 5:00 p.m.
