DEERFIELD, Ill. - Zach Reget's first-half goal gave Trinity International the early lead, but after a physical 90 minutes, the senior's score stood as the game winner on Wednesday afternoon as the Trojans secured a 1-0 victory over the visiting Holy Cross Saints at Schartner Field.

Reget fired a laser of a shot from the left side of the box in the 23rd minute, breaking the momentum that saw Holy Cross (7-7-1, 4-5 CCAC) take three shots on goal in the first 20 minutes. Trojan goalkeeper Jared Yonke saved all three attempts in the first half, finishing with six saves overall in the win. 

The Saints would out-shoot Trinity (5-8-2, 4-4-1 CCAC) in the second half by an 8-3 margin, but just three attempts would be on frame. The visitor's closest chance at the equalizer came in the 73rd minute, when HCC's Christian Rubio would re-direct a shot into the box, but the ball would hit off the right post and run along the goal line across the mouth of the goal before being corralled by Yonke.

With the win, the Trojans position themselves no worse than 7th in the CCAC standings at the end of play on Wednesday, with three regular-season matches remaining. The top eight teams at the end of the season will advance to the CCAC Tournament, with a trip to the NAIA National Tournament on the line.

Trinity returns to Schartner Field for the second of three straight home matches this Homecoming Weekend, when they host the Trinity Christian Trolls on Saturday, October 22nd. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
