DEERFIELD, Ill. - Rayelle Ross finished with a team-high 16 points, leading Trinity International for the second straight game as the Trojans secured a 73-39 victory over the Emmaus Bible (Iowa) Eagles, Friday night to open the 2016 Trojan Classic.

The Trojans (2-1) knocked down a season-high 13 three-pointers in the win, going 13-for-39 from long range. Trinity quickly jumped out to a 14-3 lead after a three-pointer from Ross at the 6:13 mark. The Trojans maintained their first-quarter lead, going up by as much as 27-14 after
Cheyenne Berbey's fastbreak score with :54 left on the clock.
Nine straight points in the second quarter extended Trinity's lead to 36-15, as the Trojans held Emmaus to just five points in the period. TIU went into the halftime break with a 41-19 advantage, with Ross putting up ten points to pace the Trojans.
Emmaus used a quick six-point run to begin cutting into the deficit in the third quarter, but Ross killed the visitors' momentum with a steal and fastbreak layup with the foul, completing the three-point play to make it a 51-32 score with 2:16 left in the third. Trinity would close out the game by scoring the final eleven points to earn the 73-39 final score.
Along with Ross' 16 points, two other Trojans finished in double-figures;
Nika Bracun knocked down three three-pointers to finish with 11 points and nine rebounds, while
Sarina Falvo pitched in with ten points in the win.
The Trojans wrap up the Trojan Classic tomorrow afternoon, when they host Keiser (Fla.). Tipoff against the Seahawks is set for 4:00 p.m.
