The Trojans (4-8, 1-6 CCAC) would hold a small first-period lead, before eight unanswered points for the home team would put Governors State (3-8, 2-4 CCAC) in front 14-7 at the 2:26 mark. Trinity trailed by a single-digit margin throughout most of the day, but were unable to ever move back in front. Trailing by six to start the second quarter,
Basha Ramsey would briefly tie the game at 30-30 with 1:17 left to play in the first half, but the Jaguars would close on a 7-1 run to claim a 37-31 halftime advantage.
Marlou Peters' bucket at the 5:55 mark of the third quarter would trim the deficit to five points, capping a 5-0 run to make it a 43-38 score, but that would be as close as the Trojans would get the rest of the way.
Robertson led the Trojans with seven rebounds, but Governors State enjoyed a 50-31 advantage on the boards.
Arielle Miree dealt out a team-high five assists on the day.
The Trojans hit the road Tuesday afternoon for their final home game before Christmas, when they face the Goshen (Ind.) Maple Leafs. Tipoff on December 20 is set for 12:00 p.m.
