The Trojans (4-9) took the lead on four different occasions in a back-and-forth first quarter, but after
Arielle Miree's three-pointer at the 4:01 mark made it a 13-11 TIU edge, Goshen scored 13 straight points to claim a 24-15 advantage at the end of the period.Â
Marlou Peters brought the Trojans back to within seven with the opening basket of the second period, but that would be as close as TIU would get the rest of the way. Down 39-26 at the break, the Trojans rallied in the third period, cutting the lead to 52-42 inside a minute remaining, after a three-pointer from Falvo and a free throw from
Rayelle Ross on the next possession. Within range to put together a comeback, Goshen closed the door with back-to-back three-pointers early in the fourth period to increase their lead to 62-44.
Peters and senior forward
Basha Ramsey each finished the day with ten points, as Peters also led the Trojans with seven rebounds. Falvo set a new career high, dealing out six assists.
The Trojans will now take off for Christmas break, before preparing for their next game in two weeks. Trinity will play host to the St. Ambrose Bees on Tuesday, January 3, beginning at 5:30 p.m.
