DEERFIELD, Ill. - An agressive Trinity International defense caused problems for the visitors all night, as the Trojans allowed the second-fewest points this season in a 73-45 victory over the Lincoln Christian Red Lions on Wednesday night.

Trinity's defensive pressure forced 42 Red Lion turnovers in the win, the highest number in two seasons, leading to 32 points for the Trojans (3-7). As a team, Trinity recorded a season-high 31 steals, led by
Cheyenne Berbey and
Jendayi Campbell, who each posted a career-best five steals on the night.
Lincoln Christian (3-2) would tie the game at 13-13 in the first period following a layup and free throw, but after
Sarina Falvo's three-pointer at the 1:37 mark, the Trojans would remain in front the rest of the way. Trinity would close out the quarter on an 8-4 run to lead 21-17 through ten minutes of play.
The key run of the game came midway through the second quarter, when the Trojans outscored the Red Lions 13-2 over a six-minute span.
Tashyra Burrough would score six straight points en route to a career-high 17 on the night as Trinity built a 36-20 advantage with 2:37 to play in the first half, and a 38-25 halftime lead.
The Trojans would keep the pressure up in the second half, forcing five turnovers before the Red Lions would get on the board in the third period, and opening up a 45-25 advantage. Trinity would stretch their lead to as much as 27 points following back-to-back layups from Campbell at the 2:01 mark.
One final run of seven straight points, all scored by Burrough in the fourth period, would seal the win, giving the Trojans a 31-point advantage with 2:37 to play, their largest lead of the night.
Falvo would finish with 12 points off the bench, while
Basha Ramsey had a solid offensive effort in her second game back from injury, scoring 11 points with six rebounds in the win. Freshman forward
Brookelyn Robertson would lead the Trojans with seven boards overall.
The Trojans step back into conference play this Saturday afternoon, when they host the Calumet St. Joseph Crimson Wave, starting at 1:00 p.m.
