Trinity looked poised for the upset, leading 2-1 over Marian going into the 5th inning. The Knights loaded the bases and tied the game 2-2 on a ground out, before the Trojans worked out of the jam. In the 6th, a leadoff home run put Marian back in front, before another run came across on a TIU fielding error to give MU the 4-2 advantage. A leadoff single from
Breanna Hansen would bring the tying run to the plate, but Marian would retire the next three batters to secure the win.
