DEERFIELD, Ill. - Freshman
Ashlyn Spay finished with a match-high 13 kills, as Trinity International rolled to a straight-set sweep over the Hannibal LaGrange Trojans, 25-22, 25-18, 25-15, inside a raucous Van Dixhorn Arena on Friday night.

Kayla Jacks dealt out 23 assists in the win.
A close opening set saw Hannibal (0-3) holding a narrow 21-19 advantage, before back-to-back kills from Spay evened the score. HLGU took the lead with the next point, but the Trojans responded with four straight to close out the set, highlighted by a pair of kills from
Lexie Voss and an ace from Jacks.
The Trojans jumped out to an early 6-2 lead in game two, with two aces from Spay and Jacks. Trinity would hold a comfortable margin throughout the rest of the game, to claim a 2-0 lead in the match, after the 25-18 victory.
Six straight points, with three kills from Spay and a pair of Kowalczuk aces put TIU in front 6-1 to start game three. Trinity looked its most dominant all night after closing out the set on a 9-3 run to take the win in the home opener.
The Trojans wrap up the weekend with two more matches tomorrow, beginning with a meeting with the Life Pacific (Calif.) Warriors at 9:00 a.m. TIU then takes on Bethel (Ind.) beginning at 1:30 p.m.
