LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Alida Knudtson led the Trojans with 11.5 points and a season-high seven blocks, but a tough four-set match went for the home team Tuesday night, as Trinity International fell to Lake Forest (Ill.) 25-17, 24-26, 25-23, 25-19.

Box Score | Season Stats

Junior hitter Lexie Voss led the Trojans (3-7) with ten kills on the night, while freshman setter Kayla Jacks collected 33 assists. With a balanced attack, Trinity saw four different players record at least eight kills on the night.

Trinity would fall behind early in the opening set, and despite a 6-1 run that featured two kills from Voss and a block from Knudtson, would fall behind after game one. With the Trojans ahead 8-7 in game two, the Foresters (2-3) reeled off five straight points to move in front, 12-8. TIU would respond with six of the next seven points, beginning with a Gabby Miller kill, and edge back out, 14-13. Both sides would trade leads four more times in the set, before an LFC service error tied the score at 23-23. The Foresters would take game point with two straight scores, but the Trojans would rally with three straight to claim a 26-24 win.

With an early lead in game three the Trojans looked poised to go up 2-1 in the match, but the Foresters would tie the score with three straight points at 13-13. Neither side would build more than a two-point lead the rest of the way, and with a 23-23 score, Lake Forest put down two kills to win the set.

The Trojans again moved out in front early in the fourth set, building a 7-3 lead with a pair of kills from Voss. Lake Forest would climb back to tie the score, then use a nine-point run to lead 22-13. Trinity would close out with five of the final seven points but run out of time before completing the comeback.

Defensively, Becca Kowalczuk led the team with 17 digs, as three different Trojans reached double figures on the night.

The Trojans return to Van Dixhorn Arena this Thursday, as they open the CCAC schedule with a visit from the Robert Morris Eagles, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
