Box Score MANITOWOC, Wisc. - In a dominant performance from the opening tip the TIU Men's Basketball team earned their second win of the season, defeating the Silver Lake College Lakers 113-64.

The Trojans came out of the gates quickly, shooting 54% from three point range in the opening half to build a 20 point lead at the break. The hot shooting Trojans continued their success in the second half, shooting an even 60% from distance to seal a dominant Trojan victory.

The duo of Greg Carlyle and Jeremy Carlyle paced the Trojans from long range, combining to go 10/16 on the evening from behind the arc and chipping in 16 and 22 points each. Freshman Nate Schmidt also had a solid day shooting, racking up a career high 17 points while shooting 5-7 from three point range.

"This is the best shooting team we've had here, and when we attack and share the ball its fun to watch," said Head Coach Boomer Roberts. "Jeremy and Greg were much scrappier today, and Ty and O'Shae continue to impress with their play making abilities."

On the defensive side of things the Trojans did a much better job defending in transition, and it showed on the stat sheet. The Trojans forced a season high 29 turnovers from the Lakers, and held Silver Lake to just 64 points on the night. 

"We were much more focused on the defensive end tonight, which is huge for us moving forward," said Roberts. "We forced 29 turnovers and held Silver Lake to shooting 37% from the field, and we're going to be hard to beat if we can come close to that consistently."

The Trojans hit the floor again this weekend when they travel to Huntington, Indiana to compete in the Ness Brothers Hall of Fame Tournament on Friday and Saturday.
