WATERTOWN, Wisc. - Holding their opponents to the third-lowest point total of the season, Trinity International held the host Maranatha Baptist (Wisc.) Sabercats in check, taking a 57-43 victory on Tuesday night.

The Trojans (8-20) held Maranatha (11-11) to just a single point in the second quarter, as the Sabercats shot 0-for-14 in the period and went over 16 minutes without a field goal. During that time Trinity would overcome an early 10-6 deficit midway through the first quarter, to take a 37-15 lead on Marlou Peter's bucket to open the second half.
Peters, along with
Tashyra Burrough would lead Trinity with 12 points in the win, while freshman
Brookelyn Robertson contributed 11 points and a team-high 12 rebounds for her first career double-double.
That 17-point advantage to start the third quarter was the Trojans' largest lead of the night, as Maranatha used a 12-3 run to close the gap midway through the quarter, 36-29. Trinity would close the third with four straight points however, and hold off the home team the rest of the way.
The Trojans hit the road one final time this weekend, when they take on the Robert Morris Eagles on Saturday, February 18, beginning at 12:00 p.m. in Arlington Heights, Ill.
