CHICAGO, Ill. - Trinity International struggled to keep St. Xavier off the basepaths on Saturday, as the Trojans fell in both games of a CCAC doubleheader, 27-6 in game one, and 11-2 in game two.

St. Xavier (21-21, 12-5 CCAC) started the day with six runs in the top of the 1st, followed by two more runs in both 2nd and 3rd frames. 
Michael Balistreri hit his team-leading third home run of the season, highlighting a three-run 3rd inning in the opener. 
Michael Luker opened the frame with a leadoff double, going 2-for-3 with a walk and run in game one, then scored on 
Adam Gomski's RBI groundout. Balistreri then homered to bring in 
Jeff Lindberg, putting the Trojans (11-22, 3-14 CCAC) on the board, 10-3.

Oscar Cordova, and 
Jeff Lindberg's RBI single up the middle gave TIU two more runs in the bottom of the 6th. 
Joel Stephenson then doubled in the 7th, scoring Latimer for the Trojans' sixth run of the game.
In game two, the Cougars again struck in the top of the 1st, scoring three times on three hits. Trinity would score single runs in the 2nd and 5th innings, first on a two-out RBI single from Luker, then on a sacrifice fly from Gomski.
Stephenson put up the best performance at the plate in game two, going 2-for-3 with a double. 
Zach Nolan and Cordova each pitched a scoreless inning of relief, with Cordova retiring the side in order in the 6th inning.
The Trojans finish out the current road swing on Monday afternoon, when they step outside of conference play to face Maranatha Baptist (Wisc.) in a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 p.m.
