ELGIN, Ill. - Trinity International were unable to keep up with the hot-hitting Judson Eagles on Saturday, as the Trojans suffered a doubleheader sweep, falling 13-1 in game one, and 8-3 in game two.

Trinity (14-26, 5-17 CCAC) took a 1st inning lead in the first game of the day, after
Nick Gehrt started the game with a single through the left side of the infield. Gehrt later scored on an RBI fielder's choice by
Adam Gomski, after a Judson throwing error. The Eagles (32-14, 18-4 CCAC) responded with seven runs in the bottom of the 1st however, keeping Trinity off the scoreboard throughout the rest of game one.
In the second game of the day, Judson would again score in the first inning, jumping out to a quick 1-0 lead. The Trojans would tie the game in the top of the 2nd, on Justin VanderNaad's two-out RBI single, scoring
Michael Balistreri.
Judson would score in four of the next five innings to take an 8-1 lead, before Trinity closed the deficit with two runs in the top of the 8th.
Oscar Cordova would make it an 8-2 score by scoring on a Judson error, and
Jeff Lindberg would drive in
Matt Latimer with a single on the next play.
Gehrt and
Joel Stephenson would both record a hit in both games, and were two out of the four Trojans overall that collected multiple hits on the day along with VanderNaald and Cordova, who each had a pair of hits in game two.
Skyler Jankowski had a scoreless outing on the mound in the second game, coming out of the pen to pitch the 8th inning and striking out two without giving up a hit.
Trinity will continue their five-game road swing on Wednesday, when they take on the Calumet St. Joseph Crimson Wave, in a doubleheader beginning at 4:00 p.m.
