DEERFIELD, Ill. - After playing a pair of games during this weekend's Trojan Classic the Lady Trojans came away with a dominating 77-44 win over Emmaus Bible on Friday before suffering a 61-53 loss to Goshen College on Saturday evening.
In their opening game of the weekend the Lady Trojans got off to a fast start and never looked back. TIU opened the first half on a 17-3 run, led by Junior
Krystal Walker who would finish the day with a game high 25 points. Not far behind her was Freshman
Alina Jahnke who tallied 19 points and 9 rebounds, one board shy of her first career double-double. With a 20 point lead at the half the Trojans continued their hot shooting in the second half, cruising to a 77-44 win.
After opening the weekend with a win the Trojans came up short to the Goshen College Maple Leafs on Saturday afternoon. In a tight contest all the way through Maple Leafs were able to knock down a few big shots in the final moments to hand the Trojans their second loss of the season. Walker was dominant yet again for TIU, finishing with 25 points for the Trojans.
TIU will open CCACÂ play with Calumet St. Joseph on Wednesday evening inside the Van Dixhorn Arena.
