DEERFIELD, Ill. - Down by as much as 15 in the second half the TIU Men's Basketball stormed back to take a late one point lead, but a CCSJ three pointer with 12 seconds left handed the Trojans their third loss of the season in their conference opener on Wednesday evening.
After a back and forth opening half that saw the Wave lead by 10, the Trojans early shooting woes continued into the second half. CCSJ knocked down back to back buckets midway through the half to eventually take a 15 points lead with 11:57 to go.
Despite trailing big with 10 minutes to go the duo of
Jeremy Carlyle and
Greg Carlyle helped lead the Trojans right back into the game. Leading 73-70 late the Trojans could not seem to hang onto the late lead as a late three point field goal with 12 seconds left gave Calumet a 77-75 victory.
The Trojans will look to bounce back this Saturday when they host Indiana-South Bend at 3 PM.
