DAVENPORT, Iowa. - In search of their first win of the 2018 season the Trojans could not seem to find their offensive rhythm, falling 52-14 to St. Ambrose University on Saturday afternoon.
It was tough sledding for the Trojan defense early in the game, as TIU could not stop the high powered offense of SAU. The Bee's opened the game with 42 unanswered points through a quarter and a half of play.
Despite trailing 42-0 the Trojans continued to fight, and it was Freshman QB
Ryan Heath who got the Trojans on the board, finding
Devonta Archer for an 83 yard touchdown pass to open the scoring for TIU.
Heath and Archer did their best to help TIU fight back in the game, but the early deficit was too much to overcome. Archer finished the day with a career high 9 catches and 181 yards receiving.
Defensively for TIU,
Bradley Mowbray once again was a standout for TIU, finishing with 11 tackles and a tackle for loss.
The Trojans are back in action next Saturday when they host St. Francis in their final game of the season.
