BOURBONNAIS, Ill. - The fast paced offense of Olivet Nazarene University was to much for the Trojans to handle on Saturday afternoon, suffering a 85-67 loss to the Tigers inside Mchie Arena.
The Trojans put forth one of their best halves of the season to open the game, taking a 44-43 lead over the Tigers into the halftime break. With the game tied at 42
Alina Jahnke converted the layup attempt with 26 seconds left in the half to give TIU the late lead. Jahnke paced the Trojans offensively, tallying 13 points and 7 rebounds in the opening 20 minutes of play.Â
In the second half of play the Trojans were unable to repeat their strong offensive output from the opening frame, going just 8-22 from the field and scoring just 23 points. The Tigers would take an early lead in the 4th Quarter, and knocked down some big shots down the stretch to hand TIU the 85-67 loss.
The Trojans will step out of conference on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Wyoming, Michigan to take on Grace Christian University.
