DEERFIELD, Ill. - It was a wore to wire win for the TIU Men's Basketball team on Wednesday as the Trojans would cruise to their sixth straight victory, defeating Judson University on the road 83-74.

Tyrone Carey was a catalyst yet again for the Trojans offensively, tallying 27 points and 8 rebounds in the victory. Three more Trojans finished in double figures as O'Shae Williams would add 16 points and 8 boards, while Jeremy Carlyle and Greg Carlyle chipped in 11, and 10 points each respectively.

"We played well defensively again tonight, holding Judson to 42% shooting and forced 21 turnovers," said Head Coach Boomer Roberts. "Both teams were competing on defense, and scrapping for loose balls which is a testament to Coach Thrift and the Judson squad."

In another solid defensive performance from the opening whistle, the Trojans took control of the game early and never looked back. J. Carlyle opened the scoring after connecting on a three point bucket just 50 seconds into the game giving the Trojans the early lead that they would not relinquish the rest of the way. Shooting 47% from the field in the opening frame the Trojans carried a 43-34 lead into the locker room at the half.

The second half saw much of the same from the Trojans, playing lock down defense and knocking down their free throws late in the game. The Carlyle twins and Carey came up big down the stretch on the defensive end, while helping seal the win at the charity stripe, sending TIU to their sixth straight win.

"Tyrone and O'Shae carried us offensively, each making some big plays in transition and in the half court," added Roberts. "We turned it over too much and didn't shoot it well from the field, but we stuck free throws down the stretch to seal it. Our guys are growing, and it's been really cool to see the team we've become over the last few weeks."

The Trojans will look to make it seven wins in a row as TIU hosts Robert Morris on Saturday inside the Van Dixhorn Arena at 3 PM.
