WHEELING, Ill. - The TIU Softball team played a pair of tough games on Saturday, splitting with IUSB Titans at Heritage Park. The Trojans came from behind in game one to earn a 4-3 victory, and came up just short in game two, falling to the Titans 4-3.
The Lady Trojans would strike first in the opening game of the day when

Despite trailing midway through the game the Trojans rallied back with three runs of their own in the 4th and 5th inning.
Gina Loy got things started in the 4th with an RBI double to bring TIU within a run.
Payton Carli and Doomis played hero in the 5th as Carli tripled home a run followed by another Doomis Sac Fly that would seal a 4-3 win for TIU.
Game two saw the Titans once again jump out to an early lead, but this time they would hold onto it. After scoring three runs in the second inning the Trojans grabbed a pair of runs in the second on a
Sara Grygus single, but the Titans would answer back with a run in the 5th to make it 4-2. Grygus again would bring the Trojans within a run, driving in her third RBI of the day in the 5th.
TIU had their chances down the stretch, including loading the bases in the 7th, but could not push across the game tying run.
