DEERFIELD, Ill. - The TIU Men's Soccer team put forth a strong effort in their opening game of the season, but a late first half goal turned out to be the difference as the Bruins would hold on for a 1-0 win over TIU.

Plenty of new faces saw the field for TIU in today's natch, with 10 players making their first appearance as a Trojan.

With both teams battling back and forth early in the first half, both sides got their opportunities but couldn't find the back of the net. But with just 12 seconds left in the opening half the Bruins got on the scoreboard on a defected shot that jus trickled over the head of Eddie Windsor and into the net.

Despite a few opportunities in the attacking third the Trojans could not muster any scoring opportunities, suffering a tough hard fought defeat in their opening match of the year.

Windsor was the highlight of the game for TIU, finishing with 7 saves in the loss.

TIU will be back on Schartner Field this coming Monday when they host Taylor University at 4:30 PM.
